Tea Trails

Castlereigh and Summerville Tea Trails
Bungalows are picturesquely located overlooking the Castlereagh Lake. Norwood and Tientsin bungalows are located in the mountains amidst verdant tea gardens high above the lake to make up the portfolio of 4 bungalows under the Tea Trails banner.

Accommodation is on an all-inclusive basis, including breakfast, lunch, an afternoon cream tea, dinner (inclusive of wine), soft and non-premium alcoholic drinks.
Facilities
• Castlereagh Bungalow
Travellers approaching Castlereagh from the road can glimpse tantalising views across the lake. Nestled in a wooded dell close to the waters of Castlereagh Lake, this century old bungalow offers unrivalled water views and superb garden suites.
Elegant parquet floors with open fireplaces in the dining and drawing rooms evoke recollections of a bygone colonial era. At Castlereagh, delicious meals will be served up by a butler in your room, in the dining room, or on the terrace overlooking the pool. The grounds are extensive and include a summer house where Ceylon's finest tea will be served.
• Norwood Bungalow
The luxurious Norwood Bungalow located at over 5000 feet above sea level is a spot known for its exhilarating air and wonderful views. It
commands a fine view of the eastern end of the Bogawantalawa Valley and rests in the shelter of one of the finest bamboo stands to be found anywhere.
It is here that planters of the past would invite friends to enjoy the pristine air and review the day. You can wander among the gardens unchanged since yesteryear, soaking up the atmosphere of a time gone by. The library is well stocked and adjacent to a large and comfortably furnished lounge, housing a selection of indoor games. The well kept gardens echo the patterns and planting of the original owners and include a large swimming pool, summerhouse and croquet lawn.
Walking and trekking can be arranged in the surrounding hills. Biking, kayaking, white-water rafting, rock climbing, paragliding and golf are also possible.

Some suites open to private gardens and all have easy access to a cosy lounge warmed by a roaring log fire. This four-room bungalow enjoys magnificent views over the lake and to the tea covered hills in the distance. There is a pretty summer house, sunbathing deck, garden and indoor games.
