Day 01

Yala National Park
The Camping Team can be ready at the Yala entrance gate from 6 am onwards, so an early start (5 am if possible!) from your beach hotel will give you more time to enjoy your stay at Yala.

The whole campsite is set up prior to the guests' arrival so all you have to do is sit back and relax! In the evening, the camp is lit up by a roaring campfire and copra torches and guest can enjoy a mouthwatering menu of food and beverages.

Day 02

Yala National Park – Private Am + Pm Jeep
Safaris
One of the largest of Sri Lanka’s wildlife reserves has beautiful rocky landscapes that are the ideal terrain for leopard encounters at places such as the aptly named Leopard Rock. The frequent sightings of this usually elusive ‘big cat’ has made Yala probably the best location in the world to observe leopards in the wild.

Also found here is the rare and dangerous Sloth Bear, Marsh and Swamp Crocodiles and huge specimens of Wild Buffalo. There are also herds of Spotted Deer, Wild Boar and solitary Sambar (Elk) in the forests of Yala.

Around 100 Elephants are also found in and around the park. Today there are said to be 18 to 20 ‘tuskers’ in the reserve, including one huge ‘cross-tusker’.

Day 03

To Beach Hotel

Yala National Park – Private Am Jeep Safari
A final morning safari at Yala is possible (6:30 am – 9:30 am) before leaving the campsite.

The Old World Town Of Galle
Galle has a charming old Dutch Fort (1640) itself the best preserved in Asia, whose ramparts enclose an Old Town of great historical and architectural value. The labyrinth of streets and al leyways contain about 200 old colonial buildings that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site of prime importance.

The Coral Gardens Of Hikkaduwa
A tropical coral reef with giant turtles and exotic species of butterfly fish.

Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery
See turtle hatchlings prepared for release back in to the sea. If you are lucky you may be allowed to release some yourself.

Mahoora Standard Safari Camps

Tents
Tents feature comfortable mattresses and pillows, bed linen, towels, torches/flash-lights and umbrellas. The tents are insect and waterproofed. Camping toilets are equipped with portable commodes. Portable showers are also provided.

Cuisine
Comfortable dining arrangements are in place and a delicious A La Carte menu is served. The food at outdoor locations is prepared on site, enabling fresh, clean and tasty meals to be served. To ensure nothing but the best for a discerning clientele, an experienced Senior Chef is provided for all camping excursions.

Beverages
An ample stock of beverages - alcoholic, soft and mineral water are available for purchase at the site. Wines too are available on prior request. Chilled beverages are made available during wildlife safaris.

Mahoora Luxury Safari Camps

Tents
Luxury tents with two comfortable beds having 6" mattresses, where quality linen takes center stage. There is also a bedside stool, a fresh fruit basket, a beautiful candle holder, a clothes rack as well as a secure place to place valuables. The tent is recommended as a twin sharing unit, however can be comfortably converted to triple-sharing basis in the event there is a child under 12 years.

Two very comfortable foldable arm chairs with a Coffee table is placed in the Living Room, which also has a baggage rack in addition to a candle stand and a floor cushion.

A flushable toilet with commode, shower with hot/cold water and a stand with a wash basin and a mirror are installed.

Food And Beverages
A Fine Dining experience can be either a romantic candle lit dinner or a fun filled BBQ around a campfire with a chef in attendance. Team Members serve guests an immaculate Five Course Dinner served under starlit skies with a roaring campfire as the backdrop. Included in the package are all local beverages, served out of a well stocked bar.

Wild Life Department trackers are on duty at the site.

Naturalist
The presence of a qualified Naturalist is ensured to enable the guests to gain first hand knowledge and an insight about the environment,

Safari Vehicles
The Land Rover Defender - [the best 4X4] or a modified pick up truck are used for the safaris, so that the clients enjoy their t time to the fullest, without any aches and pains.
