Client: Maureen Brown Hello Tony, Just to say that we are safely back from our holiday and we had a marvelous time in all respects. The Sri Lanka tour was very enjoyable, of great and varied interest and, in particular, we enjoyed the company of an excellent guide, Nimal Fernando. He was very experienced, very knowledgeable on all subjects, very obliging and we all got on well together, as friends. A great vacation. Regards Rob & Maureen Brown Client: Rita Butterworth Dear Natalie, Thank you for organising an excellent tour - Kushan, our guide, was also a very good driver and he looked after us very well. We were most impressed to find we had two of the best seats in the observation car on the train from Kandy to Ella, and the two National Park tours were a great experience. Although we had deliberately asked not to visit some of the more regular historic sites like Anuradhapura or Polonnaruwa (since we had seen quite a few pagodas in Burma) we were impressed by the Temple of the Tooth at Kandy, partly because of its beautiful setting and partly because it gave us a fascinating comparison between Burmese and Sri Lankan Buddhism. Thanks Joe and Rita Butterworth Client: Dave Hi Sarah, We had a very good holiday in Sri Lanka. Tour pre departure info was excellent, your local agents were very efficient and contacted us on several occasions to ensure all was well. Our driver really made our trip, he was courteous, friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Thanks again to all the team, especially Natalie and Sophie. Best Regards, Dave. Client: Anne Davis Greetings to all at Elephant Island, I'm writing this email to thank you for arranging a wonderful holiday to Sri Lanka for myself and my husband. It was our first visit there and we were delighted with the country and grateful to you that all went smoothly, even a little problem at the start was sorted out with minimum fuss. Anne and Peter Davis Client: Alan Buckle Hi Tony, Thanks to you and all the Elephant Island staff. Back last night from a really wonderful trip. The only problem was the unexpected rain. But this helped to keep us cool and never prevented us from doing anything we wanted to do. We cannot praise the organisation and local staff of Elephant Island and JourneyScapes highly enough. Everything went like clockwork and Mary and I had a wonderful time. We will be telling all our friends to go to Sri Lanka for a holiday with your company. The driver/guide we had, Harold, treated us like we were part of his family and could not possibly have done any more to make the trip memorable and enjoyable. Again, many thanks. Mary and I are looking forward to another holiday soon in Sri Lanka to see Anuradhapura and the east side of the island. Regards Client: Amy King Hi Sarah, We had a fantastic holiday to Sri Lanka (we got engaged there!) The information given to us was comprehensive, and we felt like we knew what the hotels would be like before we got there. Our driver was brilliant, and really made our holiday - he was willing to change round the schedule to suit us and we felt as though we really could not have been accompanied by a better person. The Aditya hotel where we spent our final week was amazing - it was a hotel that we specifically asked for due to a recommendation. It was genuinely the best hotel that either of us have ever stayed in - very romantic and perfect for couples! In general it was a pleasure to deal with Elephant Island - it was fantastic to have a personal advisor to answer all our questions and give us such a tailored holiday - we would love to holiday with you again! Thanks Amy Client: Ian Dear Natalie, Just a quick email to say a big thank you to you, Nadine and all at Elephant Island for our Holiday. Special mention must go to our Driver/Guide Mr Padmasiri. Without doubt he made our tour. He gave full and interesting talks about everywhere we went but also was happy to drive in silence while we just enjoyed the views. He guided us everywhere, including half-way up Sigiriya Rock, which meant that our visits were untroubled by touts. Every morning he greeted us with his warm smile and spotlessly clean car. Please pass on my comments about Padma to Journey Scapes. Also the Aditya was one of the best hotels that I have ever used; its service and decor were second to none. I will be happily recommending you to my friends. Best wishes Ian Client: Mary Sapsford Dear Samanthie, Just to say our holiday turned out to be one of the most memorable ever. Despite getting off to a bad start, with a delayed plane and then floods, it got better and better. This was due in a large part to the excellent driver and guide we had. He managed to get us to our destinations despite appauling road conditions and we managed to do most of our activities and excursions. It was a varied and interesting tour and all the hotels. Our driver, Roy was knowledgeable, friendly and looked after us so well. I would like to thank you for your help and will have no hesitation in recommending Elephant Island and Roy to our friends. Thanks again. Mary Sapsford Client: Stuart Lyons Dear Sophie It was an amazing trip, as you said. Everything went perfectly and we would like to thank you for all your help. We loved Sri Lanka. What a beautiful island and a wonderful history! Best wishes. Stuart Client: M.Coshall Hi Aaron, Just to let you know, we really enjoyed our holiday - we don't like being back in the UK, it's so gloomy here compared to Sri Lanka! It was interesting touring around as it gave us a chance to see the different areas of the country - all very varied - meet the local people and hear about their culture/customs. Our chauffeur guide gave us a lot of information and also the opportunity to stop and see things that weren't included in the itinerary. All the hotels were good, The Fort Printers, which was ideally located to see Galle Fort, and the food/service was very good. Despite the reviews we read, we liked the beach hotel (Heritance Ahungala). We upgraded to our room and had a good view of the sea. All the staff were very pleasant and the food was good. It was a lovely beach - the sea was a bit rough, but they had two decent sized pools. Maybe if you were staying there for 2 weeks, you may feel cut off as it's not near a town. We made friends with one of the locals and he gave us a guided tour of the village and took us out one night to search for a sea turtle - we found one that had just laid eggs! We did fill out the survey form for Journey Escapes and mentioned two other things that we thought should be included: Thank you very much for organizing everything - it all worked out very well in the end. Hope you had a good Xmas and best wishes for 2011. M.Coshall |
