• The famous Negombo beach is at its widest in front of this property with a huge expanse of sand stretching for a few kilometers either side. Perfect for beach games, and you can even play a game of football or cricket with the locals too. The sea is not great for swimming but there are plenty of spots for wading in to the sea.

Local And Day Excursions
• Take a boat and experience a wonderful sunset over the idyllic Negombo Lagoon.
• The Muthurajawela Marshes contain huge crocodiles that are easily seen by boat from the Wildlife Dept Visitor Centre.
• Spend a day shopping and sightseeing in the capital city of Colombo about 1 hour away.
• The world famous Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage is about 1.5 hours away.

Stopover Excursions And Mini Tours
• The interesting royal capital of Kandy is about 3.5 hours away (stopover night required).
• The historic sites of the Cultural Triangle including the fantastic Sigiriya Fortress are about 3.5 hours away (stopover night required).

In A Nutshell:
Jetwing Beach was originally designed by Sri Lanka’s master architect, Geoffrey Bawa. Now extensively revamped with a modern, chic, minimalist feel, the hotel has become one of the most sought after ‘top-end’ beach hotels in the island. A lot of clients are no doubt attracted by the 20 minute transfer time to Colombo Airport, thereby totally avoiding Sri Lanka’s congested and bumpy roads. Negombo itself is undergoing something of a revival and suits people who like to go out to local restaurants and bars which are within easy reach.

Tips: The spacious Honeymoon Suites on the top floors are fabulous with outdoor showers and indoor Jacuzzi’s.

A beautifully designed hotel by architect Geoffrey Bawa, this is a spacious and stylish property that offers fine facilities, set on a stunning sandy beach. Highly recommended.

Jetwing Beach is located to the north of the lively fishing village of Negombo with local bars and restaurants within walking distance and approximately 20 minutes drive from Colombo Airport.

Supervised sessions are available for children over four months operated from airconditioned crèches at the Mark Warner Child Care Centre which offers a very high standard of child care in a purpose built facility next to the main hotel in a safe location. There are supervised activities for ages 4 months to 13 years with separate rooms for different age groups and there are programmes for children of all ages. Mini Club for ages 3 to 5 years, Juniors for 6 to 9 years and Kidz & Indies for 10 to 13 years.
