The Beach At Rathgama

• Rathgama has an excellent beach which is largely deserted and private. There are no other beach hotels in the vicinity, just long lines of coconut palms stretching into the distance. Its not a fantastic location for sea swimming but certainly good enough for wading.

Local And Day Excursions
• Explore the unique living fort of Old Galle, a Dutch and British colonial settlement with   massive ramparts and streets lined with buildings of great historic interest.
• Inside the Galle Fort, is a thriving expatriate community and with a smattering of designer   boutiques, antique shops and upmarket fusion restaurants.

• There are beautiful beaches along the South Coast Road including the reef protected bay   at Unawatuna, the secret beach at Mirissa and wild deserted beaches at Tangalle.
• Nature lovers can travel to the luxuriant tropical Sinharaja Rainforest, where you can go   on treks with Forest Dept guides to observe huge trees, creepers and wild orchids.
• Mirissa is one of the best locations in the world for Whale Watching, which is possible   between December and April of each year.
• There are some little visited temples in villages nearby with exquisite ancient frescoes and   sculptures including the Kataluwa Temple at Koggala.

Stopover Excursions And Mini Tours
• The Yala National Park is the best location in the world to see Leopards in the wild, as   well as monster Crocodiles and Sloth Bears (stopover night required)
• Uda Walawe National Park contains the largest herds of wild Elephants in Sri Lanka   and numerous sightings are guaranteed (stopover night required)
• Travel up to the Southern Hill Country to amazing villages such as Ella and Haputale   that are   perched on top of the escarpment with magnificent views of the plains below   (stopover night required)

In A Nutshell:
There is no doubt that Aditya is the premier boutique beach property in Sri Lanka along with The Fortress Hotel to the east of Galle. Its difficult to analyse their winning formula, but the combination of large suites, amazing South East Asian antiques and tasteful interior décor are complimented by highly personalised service and fantastic cuisine. It’s a great mix and all the superb reviews are richly deserved.

Tips: Aditya is located half way between the historic port of Galle and the surfing resort of Hikkaduwa, so makes a great staging point for excursions to these two resorts. You can easily spend a few days exploring Galle and its environs or head to the restaurants and bars frequented by a young and highly cosmopolitan clientele at Hikkaduwa.

4 Hours Room And Breakfast

Aditya is an ultra-modern chic all-suite boutique hotel on a hidden stretch of beach in southwest Sri Lanka where guests find themselves cosseted in exquisite tropical fine art and antiques. With a private plunge pool in every room and an en suite spa service, the Aditya experience is one of the most luxurious and exclusive to be found in Sri Lanka.

Rooms

Aditya is an exclusive property with Garden Suites, Sea View Suites, and the Grand Surya Suite. Twelve well appointed rooms bear the names of the Adityas (Solar Deities) are all furnished and accessorised using exquisite tropical art. Each room is unique, individually furnished and detailed with exotic antiques imported from Bali and Indonesia. An exciting feature creates a night sky on the ceiling of the bedroom. Rooms are also equipped with wide screen TV, DVD/CD players. Each room has its own splash pool opening up to different vistas. Also featured are minibar, safe, hairdryer, tea & coffee service, his & her sinks and rainfall showers.

• Garden Suites: (5) are decorated in cool neutral colours with marble tiled floors that are amazingly transformed into a magical grotto at night as the myriad ceiling lights pick up a thousand dancing images in the overhead painting effects.

• Sea View Suites: (6) have a large sitting area comfortably furnished with wicker armchairs, low table and lamps and a desk. This leads through French doors onto a verandah overlooking the beach and Indian Ocean.

• The Surya Suite is the largest of all, with two floors and a private outside plunge pool and lounge area. Both floors have views out to sea, as does the bed which sits grandly on the mezzanine level.

Fine Dining

• The Amal Restaurant overlooks the beach. There are no fixed meal hours and the dining room can be wherever the guest chooses. In addition the restaurant offers a cosmopolitan menu, carefully chosen for discerning palates, with a strong emphasis on fresh sea food. Guests may request custom prepared meals from simple down south rice and curry specialities to fancy gourmet menus.

Facilities

Aditya offers ideal swimming and sunbathing conditions, with an expansive pool and a long, wonderfully secluded stretch of beach. Colourful tropical gardens, with their backdrop of mature trees and palms, are interesting by day and stunning in the evening against a fiery sunset.

The en-suite spa service brings in expert hands in total comfort and privacy with an exiting and holistic spa menu. The fully-equipped Gym keeps the body in shape, the Yoga Room does the same for the soul. The Library has an extensive collection of books, movies and music from all over the world.

The longest vehicle on the Aditya car park is a stretched Mini Moke with three rows of seats to drive the guests to nearby attractions.
